Professional and personal skills
Born in Switzerland, I was exposed to different languages from an early age, which made me am a proficient communicator and kindled my passion for languages and travel.
As a university administrator, I worked with students, academics and researchers from all over the world, which taught me to be sensitive to cultural and contextual nuances of meaning and interpretation, both when speaking and writing.
Indeed, my MA dissertation explores how language is a means for individuals to relate their own identity to reality, as well as the dynamic interaction between social discourses and individual voices. (The polyphonic masrketplace: modernist carnivalization in T. S. Eliot's The Waste Land).
In 2019, I decided to return to my first passion, translation, and make a career out of it. I worked as an in-house translator, editor, reviewer and English tutor for two years, before setting up my own freelance business.
